Case – Renault Dealer Performance Analysis

Analysis of key operating figures in the Renault Switzerland partner network

Renault Suisse SA, based in Urdorf (Zurich), is the general importer of the Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands in Switzerland.

In 2023, the company has set itself the goal of achieving greater transparency with regard to profitability in the R2 distribution network. An analysis of profitability in the individual business areas of the participating retail partners should enable Renault Suisse SA to provide manufacturers with a fact-based argument for the sustainable and optimal positioning of the Renault and Dacia brands in the Swiss market.

The analysis of the key figures was carried out anonymously, in particular for legal reasons. Panoff Consulting GmbH was therefore consulted as an objective, neutral and independent partner for this project.

Project insight

The analysis of the key operating figures was carried out for a previously defined number of R1 – but especially R2 – partners. The key figures of the individual companies were first reviewed and then clearly documented and evaluated for each business area using an analysis tool developed by Panoff Consulting. The key figures for each business area were then compared with the FIGAS industry index for the Swiss automotive market and analyzed. This resulted in recommendations for action per business area. In the end, each of the participating companies received its individual key figure analysis and recommendations for action for the various business areas. Renault Suisse SA received the anonymized average results as well as recommendations for action.

Roles and tasks – of Panoff Consulting in the project context described:

Key factors and result

In Panoff Consulting GmbH, Renault Suisse SA has found a partner with many years of in-depth experience at all levels in the automotive environment – manufacturer, importer and retailer. This enables us to work together and provide support on issues that go beyond the project context.

In retrospect, we consider the project to be a success because, in addition to the content-related delivery objects – the demonstration of profitability in the individual business areas in the partner network and the identification of clear recommendations for action that can positively influence the profitability of the partners in the future – a trusting partnership has also developed between Renault Suisse SA, the participating partners and Panoff Consulting.
